Shafts of bright sunlight felt like needles in his eyeballs as Raoul groaned and rolled over, burying his face in his pillow. There was a long, slow throbbing deep inside his skull. He felt a weight shift beside him and jerked his head up with a wince. He squinted groggily, and was greatly alarmed to find himself staring at an equally dopey-looking Keladry.
“Did we...?”
“I think so,” she said, and dropped her face back in her pillow.
“This is why I don’t drink,” he sighed.
“Because you’d end up in bed with random women?”
“Because I’d end up in bed with my ex-squires.”
