“Where are you going?”
“Back to my quarters.”
“But you always stay here.”
“I should sleep in my own bed. And you should sleep in yours.”
A tense silence, as she watched him throw his clothes in his pack. “Are you trying to tell me something?”
“There’s nothing to be said.”
“It sounds like you have plenty to say.”
“I have a wife. This has to stop.”
“You’ve had a wife. It’s never stopped you before.”
He didn’t say anything until he cinched his pack. Then he met her eyes squarely.
“I can’t do it anymore.”
“But—”
“No, Kel. I just can’t do it anymore. Find another fellow for yourself. I hear Dom has expressed an interest in you.”
She watched him leave, feeling like he was taking her heart with him.

Ouch - the "find another fellow for yourself" and suggesting Dom is painful. Like Kel could just go off to another person. My guess is Raoul's building walls up to make it easier to part. Doesn't make it sting less, though.
