She’s mine, he thought, running his fingers over the curve of her spine. It was a point of pride, knowing that this girl – woman, really, given that she was twenty-four – he’d trained was everything he wanted in a partner. Kel was willing to take as much as she gave, willing to try new things. She reveled in his touch as much as she loved to caress him, and never held back.
He’d had only one lover like her before. It had been years ago - almost a quarter of a century. She’d had that low musical laugh that made his toes curl, and they’d explored each other so openly, so unconscious of judgment and guilt. Her sensible but forgiving husband, though, had learned of the betrayal and decided to remove the temptation. He took her away from Tortall for years.
Raoul pulled his hand away from Kel, almost as if she were on fire. She’s mine, he realized.
