Title: Dancing Rating: G Length: 174 Competitor: Faleron Round/Fight: 2/A Summary: Balls and a little matchmaking go hand in hand, right?
…
‘Because I can’t dance.’ In response to his question – Why don’t you like balls – and the confession shouldn’t sting so much, so many years later, but for some reason her cheeks are hot. ‘Stuff and nonsense!’ says Neal, his eyes theatrically skyward. ‘You, Lady Naginata, know how to move.’ ‘No, you want me to know how to move.’ ‘Then why do you sway when the musicians start to play?’ The green-eyed debaters’ focus shifts back to Faleron again, but he meets Kel’s eyes squarely. ‘There are no bad dancers, only bad partners. Neal’s right. If you can do it with a glaive, you can do it with anyone.’ ‘While it seems the North has knocked the grammar out of our dear Faleron – in some undoubtedly valiant circumstances, I’m sure – there is no denying the unequivocal truth of his words.’ ‘I still don’t have an “Anyone” to teach me, regardless.’ ‘Then Keladry of Mindelan, may I have this dance?’ His role as wingman/good deed of the evening complete, Neal smugly goes off to find Yuki.
