Title: Chocolate Rating: PG Length: 184 Competitor: Faleron Round/Fight: 2/A Summary: Nina Simone for the win.
…
The first time she sees him and something in her stirs she thinks it is because of her monthlies that she reacts so. His eyes, so very dark – and shining – meet hers, and her mouth suddenly floods with a bitter-sweetness that overwhelms her senses completely. ‘Did you miss Corus?’ he asks, and his eyes are all lit up, and the tang in her mouth sweetens, and he matches her smile with one of his own. ‘I didn’t at all,’ she admits, and as quickly as his smile had blossomed is a puzzled look in its place, a quicksilver quality of movement and feeling she is unused to in this boy she once knew. But one she thinks she kind of likes. ‘But I missed the people here.’ There is sugar fizzing under her skin where he squeezes her shoulder, and his eyes are caramel-bright, and suddenly she decides it have very little to do with any craving for sweets she might or might not have. Or at least, those eyes - that touch - unleash a desire for a very different kind of sugar in her.
