Summary: Raoul is found by Kel
A large lump shifted behind one of the heavy curtains and Kel had to swallow a grin. Excusing herself from her knot of friends, she made her way across the ballroom and slid behind the Raoul filled curtain.
“My Lord, where’s Buri?”
She felt him jump.
“Kel? Is that you?” he whispered.
“Yes,” she struggled not to laugh.
“Buri’s in our rooms,” he muttered darkly. “She’s told Thayet she’s unwell. Naturally, when I tried the same excuse on Jon he didn’t believe me. ‘I doubt she’s contagious’ he said. Well, I’m not going out there, so he’ll just have to be satisfied that I’m here.”
Kel smothered a laugh at her former Knight Master’s behavior.
“It’s not all that bad sir.”
“I’m afraid it is.”
Kel sighed and found his hand with hers.
“Come dance with me Raoul.”
