White is the colour of innocence and the way that Kel stands shyly before him, body bare with her lower lip between her teeth, nearly drives Raoul to his knees. There are hundreds of things he’s wished for in his life and though he is experienced and she is young, he can’t bring himself to slow down, not after all this time.
Between them there are years of waiting, years of hidden looks and secret words, and when she reaches up to tug at the laces on his shirt, it is all Raoul can do to stay gentle. He hasn’t been with a virgin since he’d been one himself, but she is soft and yielding and he knows, he knows that this is what’s right.
