Kel dragged a drunken Lord Raoul to his rooms, her limbs protesting from the effort. The man was heavy, and his body trailed uselessly behind her, occasionally stumbling forward and almost bowling her over, or locking his arm around her waist and pulling her to him while he tried to nuzzle at her neck. She was unsure what to make of it all, most of all his drinking. But such thoughts could wait for later. For now, she needed to take care of her knight-master. He was in pain, and she knew he wouldn’t want to go back down into the abyss of addiction he had just taken a step towards. No, she’d make sure he got a good night’s sleep and grieved properly in the morning.
