Title: Black Poppies (II of III?)
Rating: G
Length: 327
Competitor: Dom
Round/Fight: 2/B
Summary: Kel Gets sick (the sweating sickness?)
They say with the ill that right before the worst, the patients are at their best. At least that’s what Dom had heard, and he had grown up most of his life with a family of healers on both sides. Yesterday Kel had woken up, and stayed awake, for more that a couple minutes. And today She was trying to sit, and was still awake, it had been more than an hour. She seemed like she was getting better at a rapid rate. He was worried, but was trying not to let her know. He could see it on Neal’s face that he was a bit worried as well; he kept making excuses to walk back through the area where Kel’s bed was, just to ask Dom or Raoul how she was feeling. Before she had stared feeling better Raoul was talking of taking her to Mastiff, where Neal’s father, Duke Baird was. He had dealt with severe sicknesses before and all three of the men were in agreement, now however; Kel was awake and she may put up a struggle. Dom sighed to himself while still helping Kel Eat every so often.
It was Raoul who convinced her it was in her best interest to leave with him, he told her Dom’s squad was due to go with them as well, now that their replacement were here.
A cot was strung out between two horses; Kel was lying in it with a blanket over her and another as a makeshift pillow. Thankfully for her For the first half of the trip the men carrying her didn’t speak once to her and she slept the whole time. But the second half of their journey it was Raoul and Dom, Who were constantly talking. She couldn’t figure out if those two ever shut up. Sometimes they tried to include her but her mind couldn’t keep up with the pace and eventually, out of exhaustion, she’d fall asleep again.
