Title: Say Hello To Onnalee
Rating: PG
Length: 404
Competitor: Dom
Summary: Dom talks To a girl Names Onna at a ball one night, they really 'hit it off'...
The night had started out good for a ball, he was with Kel, it was their second official outing as a couple. Raoul wasn’t hiding behind any curtains yet, which was always a plus. But when he saw his niece, or well second cousin, maybe; somehow he knew they were related. Towards the middle of the evening he saw her alone by the wall, he had remembered seeing her in the exact same position some hours ago. Taking it upon him self he whispered to Kel that he’d be right back.
Walking over to her, and trying to remember her name, he didn’t realize that there were a group of men watching him. They weren’t all standing together, no, but there were several men scattered around the room who seemed thoroughly interested in why he was talking to a new young girl.
“Hello” Dom said as he leaned next to her. She was pretty enough, Dom thought, so why wasn’t she having fun? Then he understood, when she whispered hello back he thought he had imagined it for a second. Then, who she was clicked in his brain, she was one of Neal’s sister’s daughters. She was shy and always deathly quiet at family functions; in fact, the only person she ever seemed to talk to was his uncle Baird he recalled. “Your name’s Onnalee right?” he asked. “He was rewarded with her smile “Onna.” She amended.
It wasn’t long till Dom had her laughing and talking adamantly, he felt quite proud of himself considering he couldn’t recall if he’d ever talked to her before. Soon Dom offered her a walk in the garden; he didn’t know that that would be a problem for the suspicious men watching him.
While out in the cool air Onna seemed to grow only less shy, instead of him making jokes it was her now. On their last turn, making their way back to the ball room one of Kel’s brothers cornered them. He coolly looked at the pair of them and Dom’s smile fell. Turning to Onna Anders told her that she should probably go back inside. Eyes wide she did as she was told. Then turned to Dom. “You and I are going to have a talk.” He said slowly. Dom liked to think of himself as a brave man, but he wished that Onna would either tell Kel, or someone else would come save him.
