Neal was now standing next to Dom and healing his bloody lip. Kel he noticed, look absolutely livid, which was a bad sign. Deciding to but in before Kel could say something she may regret, out of anger Dom spoke; “If you could let me explain Anders, I’m sure you’d understand…”
“I’d understand? Yes, maybe there were some points in my life I have been tempted, but I never have strayed from my wife, what were you thinking? Anders spat. Raoul Reached back towards Anders ready to grab him again if he needed. Dom was definitely glad Kel had chosen to bring him and Neal with her.
Finally after what felt like an eternity Kel spoke, though she still looked angry her voice remained calm.
“Anders, “She paused. “ I know you thought Dom was...cheating one me, but that’s no excuse to go and attack him or not let him tell you what was going on first.” She paused again, Dom wondered if she was going to burst like he knew she wanted to. Then he got his answer. “Men!” she began, “you’d think you would all learn I can take care of myself. Do you really think that if Dom was cheating on me I wouldn’t eventually find out? Or maybe it was that you thought you needed to protect me from getting hurt? Let me tell something to everyone here right now, I am a woman, and most of the time I get upset more than you know. Mithros! Once a month I want to practically cry all the time! I think I can deal with my own relationship. Alright?” promptly she turned around and walked away, leaving Neal looking shocked, Anders a bit bashful and Raoul Hiding a smile behind his hand.
Dom stepped away from the three men and jogged to catch up to Kel. Just as he was about to reach her she stopped and turned looking at Anders “She’s his Cousin!” she half yelled. Dom took her hand and lead her back though the ball and back to his rooms. He could tell she seemed a bit defeated after the night’s events. Kissing her eyelids he helped put her to bed. All that mattered to him was that she fell asleep smiling.
