Title: Of Rubber Ducks and Bubblebaths
Rating: PG-13
Length: 308 words
Competitor: Raoul
Round/Fight: 3/A
Summary: Dom is frustrated over his lack of fun time with Kel and complains to Raoul.
Somewhere in the realm of Kel’s bathroom lay a perfectly innocent-looking, yellow, rubber duck. Every day, without fail, it was Kel’s bath tub companion. She would scrub herself and relax in the bubbles, watching the little toy sail from one end of the tub to the other and then back again. Whenever she moved or caused small waves, it bobbed along with her, that goofy little duck grin on its face, like it appreciated what she was doing for it.
And somewhere out in the cold stood Kel’s lover, waiting patiently for her to get out of the bath so they could cuddle and have private time... and fun... lots and lots of fun.
Dom hadn’t had fun time in a long, long, long time and he was incredibly frustrated by this. Usually, as soon as Kel got out of the bath, all she wanted to do was sleep and so Dom lay there as frustrated as could be while Kel slept like a log. She snored too. She never snored after fun time, which frustrated Dom even more.
The duck had seen a lot more of Kel than Dom had in a while... not that he was jealous. Why would he be jealous of a duck of all things? Fancy that... a duck.
The duck, bobbing along... bobbling along and appreciating Kel...
Dom ground his teeth.
“It’s like she doesn’t even want to be with me anymore,” Dom complained to Raoul. “She spends so much time in the bath with that damn duck... just laying there and laying there, with bubbles for crissake. She won’t even let me in the bath with her.”
Raoul suddenly became super interested in observing his fingernails because, unbeknownst to Dom, Kel and her rubber duck had been spending a lot more time in his bubblebaths with him and his rubber duck.
