Title: Protective Rating: G Length: 206 Competitor: Owen Summary: Owen can’t stand to watch Kel joust
:::
Owen hated watching Kel joust. He knew that her jousting skills were excellent for her age, but watching full fledged knight ram their lances against her was nerve wracking beyond belief. Whenever the charge began, Owen was barely able to watch from fear of seeing something terrible unfold.
When Sir Voelden had nearly ran Kel through, Owen thought his heart would beat out of his chest from terror. Kel had seemed all right, and Owen knew that he had armed her properly, but what if she had been injured beyond a healer’s capacity?
But Kel had survived, and moved on to joust against Lord Wyldon. This time there was absolutely no chance Kel would win, and survival would be the goal. Kel had gone beyond everyone’s expectations and even shattered Wyldon’s lance, and no one was prouder than Owen. His friend, a female squire nonetheless, had done what most knights could not.
But even knowing Kel’s success in the match before, watching Kel joust with Wyldon a second time was not even close to easy. Owen sighed; he knew it would never be easy, no matter how many times Kel jousted or how good she became. Owen would just have to always deal with his protectiveness.

That's rather cute. I love boys who are protective of girls who don't need it.
