Title: Reputation 2 Rating: G Length: 212 Competitor: Owen Summary: It’s Owen’s turn on the field.
::::
Owen mounted his horse, his hands sweaty. This was his first official joust, and he was terrified beyond measure because he was not just fighting for his own reputation, but Kel’s as well.
Owen charged towards his opponent, lance down. He could feel Happy’s muscles bunching as they rode down the field together, preparing for impact. When the earth shattering crash came, both lances shattered, dusting the ground with broken wood. They each rode back to the start position and prepared to charge again.
When Owen raced down the field this time, he felt entirely different. He felt secure in his position, in his training and in his beliefs. When the impact came this time around, it was only his opponent’s lance that broke, and Owen barely felt the hit.
Owen faced his opponent, visor down. It was the last charge, the last chance to prove his point in a dramatic fashion. Owen urged Happy on, racing full speed as the opposing war horse and its rider. Owen felt as if he owned this last charge. He thrust his lance into his opponent’s shield and saw him fly. Owen’s foe soared through the air, landing in a heap.
Owen had done it. He had done his duty to his friend and succeeded.

Wow, unseating in his first joust? Not too shabby... makes his knight-master proud, I'm sure.
