Title: Admiration Rating: G Length: 136 Character: Neal Summary: It’s a part of being a lady knight.
:::
Kel was never happier than she was on the practice courts, Neal could see that plainly. But what he didn’t see was why. Why would someone take so much joy from working yourself to exhaustion? Why would someone enjoy spending all of their time alone with a blade? Wouldn’t she be happier spending time with her friends?
Neal knew that he would never understand Kel; she was a special brand of warrior. It wouldn’t be for a few years that Neal would finally understand where that determination came from.
After being the Lioness’s squire for a few months, Neal realized that working yourself silly was just a part of being a lady knight. He was certainly glad that it wasn’t a requirement for being male knight, but it didn’t make him admire Kel’s disposition any less.
