Title: Things That Are Dying Rating: PG Warning: Character Death Length: 142 words Competitor: Owen Round/Fight: Final Summary: Wyldon’s last thoughts are of Owen and Kel.
In death, he thinks of his wives. Vivenne with her grace and wit, Keladry with her serenity and determination. It would’ve been easier to widow Vivenne; she was the stronger of the two, and had lived a full life with him.
He clutches his stomach, holding it tight. It’s futile. This isn’t the kind of wound a tourniquet can help with – he’s merely prolonging the inevitable.
He remembers Owen’s last words before he left, and hopes that the boy will take care of Kel. Their child should be born soon, if not already. He wonders if Owen will be a father to the little boy or girl he won’t be able to raise.
Pain and regret fill his mind, and things begin to darken around him. He whispers his son-in-law’s name, willing him the strength to carry on where he could not.

Interesting to think of Vivenne as the stronger one. And this is so perfectly Wyldon (of course).
