Summary: Owen tries to be a better man.
He’s always been a closed man. Only those who know him well can read his emotions easily, and even after years with him I still have difficulties doing so. But when he watches her, his face is open to the world. He loves her – he loves her more than anything alive.
And seeing that makes my heart swell with joy.
Seeing her return that gaze with love in her eyes and such a relaxed acceptance of everything he’s offering, though… sometimes it’s hard to watch.
So I think of my wife, of the family we’re creating, and remind myself that it’s not good to be jealous of other people’s joy. I let my heart revel in the happiness instead.
