Title: First Dance Rating: G Length: 234 words Competitor: Owen Round/Fight: Final Summary: He dreads dancing with girls, but that’s because he forgets that Kel’s a girl sometimes.
“I didn’t think I’d ever see you at a ball,” Kel said, walking over to his side. She looked pretty in a copper-colored ballgown.
“I’ve never had much reason to go,” Owen admitted. “Girls won’t dance with me.”
“I’m a girl. Did you think of asking me?”
He grinned. “No, I didn’t.”
Kel’s smile faltered. “Because you don’t think of me as a girl?”
“Because I think of girls as terrifying creatures, and you’re not terrifying.”
“Would you like to dance, though?”
He agreed, and walked to the dance floor with her. He hadn’t attempted any formal dancing since their days in training, having been lucky enough to be a war-time knight. Dancing with Kel, though, wasn’t anything like he imagined dancing with a girl would be, because he didn’t care if he messed up when he was with her. She laughed when he missed a step, and whispered instructions when he felt like he was about to forget something. Best of all, she wasn’t that good herself.
“Promise me you’ll come to more parties and dances,” Kel said, laughing, as they made their way off the dance floor. “I’ll come to every single one if it means I can have as much fun!”
“If I can dance with you, I’ll be sure to!” Owen replied with a grin. Suddenly the season seemed like a much jollier experience than he’d thought it would be.

Ahaha, "Best of all, she wasn’t that good herself." Poor Kel I love their relationship here, and Kel's slight vulnerabilities.
