There were a few men who weren’t afraid of courting a lady knight, though. Several came to talk to her. A couple asked her to dance.
But one man kept his distance from her, merely nodding at her from across the ballroom. Owen lifted his wine in a silent toast, smiling slightly. Their eyes remained locked. Kel was surprised and intrigued by his intensity.
