ZOMG KIZ I TRIED TO WRITE SOME FLUFF! AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED
“You’re pregnant?” Dom whispered, shocked. “Kel…” he trailed off, lost for words. He watched as her eyes filled with tears. Feeling protective, he reached out and wrapped his arms around her, bringing her close to him.
For Kel, it was a release. It made it more real, somehow, telling Dom. The tears began to slip down her face, and before she knew it, she was sobbing into his shirt. He made soothing sounds, and stroked her hair.
Eventually, the tears stopped, and they stood there in silence, holding each other, considering the enormity of what Kel had revealed to him.
Finally Dom broke the silence. “Marry me?” He asked, his voice slightly muffled by her hair.
Kel’s head shot up, almost clipping his nose. “What?” She stared at him, alarmed. “Dom, that’s not funny.”
He met her eyes squarely. “I wasn’t joking. Marry me, Kel.”
Thus time Kel was lost for words. She stumbled over her words, trying to comprehend what he was saying. “Dom, you don’t have to do that. You shouldn’t- what about the Own?”
Dom’s lips twisted in a wry smile. “I do, and I will. After all, someone needs to look after you. And I’m great with children; I manage Neal well enough, don’t I?” He grinned, trying to hide the swirl of emotions within his chest. “I was getting too old for the Own anyway.”
Kel’s lips trembled. “I could manage well enough without you. You shouldn’t marry me Dom.”
“Of course I should.” He brushed the stray tear that rolled down her cheek. “Think it over, and give me an answer when you’re ready to. Now, no more tears.”
Kel wiped at her eyes, frustrated. “It’s the dratted mood swings. I cry over everything now.” She sniffed.
Dom knew there was another matter to still be discussed. “Will you tell the father?”
Kel averted her eyes. “Wyldon has a wife and children – and grandchildren. He doesn’t need to know.”
