Rating: PG-13
Wishlist Item: (#2 - Kalasin's Death)
Summary: Before and after her death the closest to her are dying.
Watching the man you love destroy everything you believe in is hard. To watch the slow decay of your people from behind a golden cage and unable to do anything for the bars that bind you are glorious and bright and you can’t make yourself to break the love that anchored you to the world for so long.
You’re stuck and there is nothing that you can do about it because despite the fact it hurts, oh how it hurts, it’s the good kind of hurting a gentle warmth that spreads inside you and thaws the deep craters of your heart.
It’s love that anchors you there, and love that pulls you back. It’s love that makes you despair and love that keeps you strong. But it also tears you apart and rips you from your life. Like being stuck between two horses you are thrown apart from what you need and what you want isn’t taken into account anymore.
You are forgotten, you no longer feel the gentle touches of love nor do you recieve the loving glances, you are ignored, forgotten. You survive because you love him, but he has forgotten that you love more than one thing - he has fogotten that you love many. He tears you away from your life without a sorry and a backwards glance and you are expected to smile and to be grateful.
He does not appreciate you any longer, always expecting you to be there, an obedient servant … but a servant of love, but every day you feel your heart breaking and everyday the light is dimmer and every day your love is tearing you apart further.
It won't be long until you can no longer survive. It won’t be long until you are no longer you. It won’t be long until you are blown away on the winds of time and forgotten forever.

Dear Husband,
The wind of my soul mourns at our parting,
And I must tell you this while I still have the strength in my hands,
and the breath in my lungs.
I love you,
never forget that fact,
but I also love my people - the people that you desetory every day.
Can not you see?
That you are the cause of all the pain that I feel?
And all the nightmares I see?
But I love you,
more than I love the moon and the stars,
more than I love the sky and the sea,
or the mountain air on a crisp winters morn,
I shall never forget you,
nor will my love ever fade.
But I can not live,
in this storm anymore,
I am drowning and there is no-one to catch me
I can not stay any longer,
I must take my place with my people.
and my ancestors.
It is my time to go.
Yours Truly,
Kalasin

She looked out across her lands, tears upon her cheeks as she desperately tried to gasp a last breath of air before she desparted the earth, as she tried to taste something sweet in the air that had been fouled with death for so long.
“It is my time to go”
She settled on the rail, waiting for something - though she did not know what - and she thought about the life that she had lived and as she moved to let go of the rail, a firm hand gripped her wrist and pulled her back,
“Kalasin” it was he, her husband … a deep and eternal sadness etched upon his brow and fear hidden within his eyes, "Do not leave me”
“I must”
“You can not go”
“I can nott stay - not living in a world like this”
“I will change it”
“You wont”
“I will! … just please don’t leave me" and she reached out to gently cup his face and placed a soft kiss upon his lips,
“I have to go” and she gently removed his hand from her wrist and placed a gentle kiss upon his lips one last time.
“I love you” and she fell, leaving him alone there, in the tower, looking at the spot where his wife once stood and he felt the lingering touches of her kiss and he fell to his knees and he wept and he was alone.

“Mama!” called Kalasin, and Thayet gently put down the book which she had been reading,
“Yes, my lovely one”
“Who are they?” the curious child asked pointing at a painting of a woman which was hanging on the wall. Standing behind her was a great lord, his eyes bright and like fire and dressed in the finest armour
“They were my parents, her name was Kalasin”
“That’s my name!” the child exclaimed in joy,
“Yes it is” and she picked her up and clutched her to her chest, “That’s because you will be as beautiful as she was”
“Really?”
“Yes, young one”
“Where are they?”
“They both died, a long time ago” and Thayet felt a small tear escape her as she remembered her parents and as she remembered the day that her mother died, for on that day her father also died - he was never the same after that, ruthless and uncaring … he thought it was tha K’mir’s fault that Kalasin had gone ill with grief, though he knew it was his,
“Oh - I’m sorry”
“Thank you, my dear, now come - your father should be out of his meeting with the ambassador, lets see if he wants company”
