Title: Return Rating: G Prompt: #2 Family Summary: A knight lays down his life for his King.
His feet were dancing, the invisible sprites covering him in excitement as the group of knights finally returned home. He held a garland of rosemary in his hand - the kind that his Mama had favoured before she was laid to rest and buried under the snow last Midwinter - and knew that his Papa would love it as much as he had loved her.
When the group of mail and leather clad warriors split and rushed to their families, he frowned. Where was his Papa? A tall, bearded man spoke softly to the red-haired knight he knew as the Lioness, before turning and making his way towards him.
The man knelt down in front of him on the snow, his blue eyes so bright that it felt as if there were a hundred fires hurting his body. "I'm Jonathan," the stranger said softly, "And I know your father. Will you come and walk with me for a while?"

Oh. I'm utterly speechless because this was so beautiful. And I wonder if Jon's eyes are simply bright, or bright with tears/emotion/whatever - because for all anyone can say about Jon negatively, he's still not the kind of person who takes death - especially death in his own name - lightly.
Gorgeous, Joa.

Awwww, so sad, but so beautifully written! (Also, it just took me three tries to spell 'beautifully'. The first came out as beautifically and the second ended up as beautifally. )
