Title: Yesterday

Summary: Star crossed lovers - keeping secrets and lying to themselves. A Kalasin II/Neal drabble.
Author's Note: Yay for the end of writer's block!

It started with a look. Shy, sidelong and quick, before she turned away, blushing. When she glimpsed him later, he was still watching her.

Then it was a kiss. Stolen moments, hidden in the shadows. Pressed against stable walls, sweet nothings spilling from the lips of careless desire.

They became lovers. Sweaty and sticky, caught up in cotton sheets and impossible dreams. Anyone could have known it was doomed, but lovers will be dreamers and they thought they could be the ones to defy fate.

It ended with a marriage. He watched her sail away, holding her blue eyes with his green ones until the ship was just a spot on the horizon.

And I love this fic. You captured Neal the romantic so perfectly. I think the last line broke my heart a little bit.
