The affair had been carrying on, for 6 years now. When they crossed paths in the North, or in the City, they found they couldn't stay away from eachother. Kel was with that sergeant in between, he knew, just as he was with his wife when he was home. A place he both couldn't wait to go to and yet couldn't wait to leave . . .
'I love you' he'd say as he rode away. 'I missed you' he would say as he returned home. And his wife believed him. Why wouldn't she?
Cleon of Kennan had become a good liar . . .
