Title: Smile Over the Fall Rating: G Length: 145 Summary: The Empress of the Thanic empire thinks . . . Author’s Notes: none.
The Empress looked out the small window from her prison cell. The village below her was burning, people were fleeing. It was a revolt on an unprecedented scale. She sighed. Her husband was dead. Killed by his own men. Her sons killed in battle. Her daughters had been taken to be used by the men who had taken them. She knew her turn was next, but her age, her standing would result in only one fate for her. Death. Her husband had fallen, her sons had fallen, and her daughters were gone. Just as was the great Thanic Empire. She wondered at the future. What was going to heppen to it now? Part of her was thankful that she would not be around to witness the unfolding wars that would tear this land apart. At that thought, a small watery smile spread across her face.

Aww, so sad. I like that she kind of takes comfort in that she won't be there to have to witness it.

Another one! The hopelessness makes me feel a little weepy I know nothing about this character, but again, my heart completely goes out to her here!
