Title: Lilies Rating: G Prompt: Walk the line Category: 100 words Word count: 100 Summary: The aftermath of the events in The Will of the Empress in Namorn.
The problem with such a sizable empire is that when a shock comes, it is a long time before the shockwaves dissipate. They rattled the commoners, the nobles, and her, though she tried to hide it. It was no good.
“Perhaps,” she could almost hear people say, “Our Empress is not such a powerful woman, and is a delicate lily after all.”
But people did not know that even lilies could survive winter storms, if they were covered and given enough warmth. And there was plenty cover and warmth left to keep her power in place, or so she prayed.

I like this. Not enough is written about Berenene - or indeed from her point of view. The lily analogy was also very pretty.

Now that's interesting. I'm not sure I ever considered the WotE aftermath from Berenene's perspective before.

I like the comparison of Berene to a lily. Very interesting idea and very well written!

The lily analogy was also very pretty. Agreed. This was lovely, and strong.
