Title: Firstborn Rating: PG (for adult issues) Prompt: #2 Walk the line Category: 100 word Word Count: 100 Summary: Destiny steps in at a price. Delia surrenders and Jonathan loses a part of his immortality.
The sight of her hunched position coiled something punishing in his chest, and Jonathan closed the door to his chambers quietly. Gently, as if he had an idea of what to do, he knelt beside the bed, his fingers reaching automatically to brush the lanky hair away from her forehead.
Delia trembled at his touch, her exquisite eyes a storm of madness. “I wasn't supposed to want him,” she whispered in confession. “Oh, Jon. I want him back!”
Wounded, he held in his pain and wrapped his arms around her, trying, so desperately, to keep them from breaking into pieces.

Awww. I don't like Delia, but this is so touching that I completely forgot my dislike of her. It's beautifully written, and I love how you imply her miscarriage through the summary and the drabble itself without outright saying it. ETA: and you put this in the Practice Courts? I guess that means we've got some more fantastic drabbles to look forward to, then.
