His first wife died in childbirth. She'd been the perfect submissive woman, but she was too weak to deliver their child.
Her first husband died in battle. He'd been her perfect soul-mate, but the enemy, hoping that heartbreak would render the lady knight ineffective, targeted him specifically to hurt her.
After watching the Black God take their loved ones to the Peaceful Realms, both warriors locked away their hearts, never intending to love again.
They first noticed each other during tournament competitions. He admired her skill with the lance. She complimented his swordsmanship.
