Title: Mirrors Rating: G Prompt: Villain Category: 100 words Word count: 100 words Summary: Reflecting on Roger, scrying, and sloppiness
In his first life, Roger loves mirrors, though he does not usually see his reflection in their polished surfaces. Scrying comes naturally to him, as fire starting does to “typical” Gifted infants.
Watching gives him secrets, and power. At eight, he forces a maid to return the pearls she stole. At seventeen, he promises to conceal another student’s cheating, if the boy does him a favor.
Eventually, his mirror calls him to the Black City, where he makes allies.
Waking from Sorcerer’s Sleep, he sees only his face on the glossy surface that once unfolded mysteries.
Mirrors lose their appeal.

This is utterly cool xD
I like the interesting twist on what comes to Roger naturally, although I suppose it's kind of ironic that just when he only sees his reflection, he stops taking such pains in his appearance xD

Nice writing, simple and effective. I especially loved the bit about the Black City.

Slightly creepy, but very good! And I love this idea of looking into a mirror, and not seeing your reflection. Wonderful, brilliant work!
