Title: Tilting
Rating: PG
Summary: Some more Kel/Seaver.
A/N: I decided to write a fic to celebrate my 500 posts, and this is what came out. ;D I'm definitely getting attached to Kel/Seaver!
"I'm not sure about this Kel."
Kel looked up from adjusting Peachblossom's tilting saddle. Only this morning he had agreed to their tilting against each other, but now Seaver was standing there, lance in hand, an uncertain look on his face.
"What do you mean?" she asked, "You said it was a good idea, this morning."
"I know," Seaver said.
Kel just looked at him as he shuffled his feet and examined the ground. He was cute when he was bashful. "Well?"
"It's just, I don't know, tilting's...dangerous."
Seaver kept looking at the ground for a moment, but when she didn't reply he glanced up at her from under his eyebrows. Kel's heart skipped a beat. I think I could be in love with this man, she thought.
"What difference does that make? I've tilted against Wyldon for Mithros' sake."
Seaver walked over to where she was standing, lance in one hand and the reins to his mount in the other. Peachblossom turned his head, snorted, and looked away again. "I know that, but I still...worry that you might get hurt. And it would be even worse if I was the one to hurt you..." he mumbled something under his breath.
"...and?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. He rolled his eyes, making a big show of sighing heavily. Kel resisted smiling at his theatrics.
"Well...you're probably going to be better than me," he said, "I bet you unseat me in less than a second, and I go flying without a second thought." A grin was forming on his face now, although she could tell that he believed what he had said. Kel knew it was probably true as well, but that didn't mean she would enjoy unseating him.
Okay, she would a tiny bit.
"You dummy," she said, leaning in to kiss him. She would never get tired of feeling stubble under her palm when she cupped his cheek in her hand, or that brief moment when his arm would snake around her waist to pull her closer to him.
"I'm going to send you flying," she laughed.
