I was thinking about this last night, because I was watching some YouTube videos of people drawing.
How do you think your own style developed? Do you try drawing the way other people do, until it evolves into something that's uniquely your own? Do you think looking at how other people draw (and, sometimes, adopting their style or approach) helps or hinders you?
Does your style stay the same, or is it constantly changing? Why do you think that is?
Note: When I say 'drawing', I mean any way of making art, including photoshop etc.

Ooh, I think when I was younger, I was influenced by my sisters when we were drawing, but my style is different from theirs, so after a while I kinda seperated from their influence. My style doesn't constantly change, but from say, two months ago? Yes... is that constantly? Anyway, I'm not a born artist, I'm not really good at all and I don't think I'm going to post any fanart up. :/ So, I think my style changes a lot because I'm getting better and better, and I still need to grow, the more I practice, the faster I get better.
Good thread idea, I usually don't write that much! ;D

My art constantly changes, depending on what I'm watching. I watch a lot of anime, so my art is heavily influenced by that. A lot of my drawings have medieval elements and the characters have big eyes: Pierce + manga. Often, my style changes to look like another artists' or because I just read a cool drawing book

I tend to like to have things looks simple and clean, I think. I like subtlety, and I've gone back on a lot less simpler looking stuff and gone 'what was I thinking?' That said, I've seen plenty of artists that do just the opposite, but still tie it all together to make one pretty, shiny image

Dark, I suppose. At the moment, although I'm more heavily influenced by anime, I do a lot of inking and shading rather than coloring. I don't do shadows very well, or shading, so things sometimes look...odd. Crack-y kind of odd.

Interestingly enough, I think my style has evolved through doodling in my notebooks. I've gotten better at mixing realism and cartoon figures because of sketching people in my classes, but it also means I very rarely color things and I feel most comfortable drawing with a #2 pencil.
