Title: Skirmish Rating: PG Notes: Part of the 'Love is not Enough' drabble series. Prequel to 'The Archer', and I promise I'll post it's sequel next Summary: It's all so sudden. It all happens so suddenly. One moment they are riding peacefully through the woods, and in the next raiders are upon them, and there are more than there really should be for only a few knights charged with guarding a group of healers. This is no hunting, merely a bandit attack, and they rush to protect the mages. Arrows and spears fly through the air, and Wyldon can only wonder at how many bandits are hiding in these woods, wishing that there were more soldiers to help protect his people. Still, the battle rages on, and Wyldon will protect these innocents until his last breath.

So much in so few words - I really get the sense of his dedication and willingness and hopelessness. Great job, looking forward to more.
