Title: The Archer Rating: PG Notes: Part of the 'Love is not Enough' drabble series. Summary: Wyldon is caught unawares.
Bodies litter the ground, felled by arrows and swords. Thankfully, the only losses their side have felt are wounds, serious ones, but in a group of healers, there is at least help at hand. A flash of movement catches Wyldon’s eye; a man is hiding in a tree. Clearly one of the few who had yet to retreat, he thinks as he watches the man climb slowly down the tree. He had no desire to kill another, not now the battle was clearly over. Wyldon turns away, not seeing the other man reach for his bow and arrow, and by the time he sees the flash of arrow in the corner of his eye it is too late.

I love how you've captured this moment in such a realistic and descriptive way, plus I think you've got Wyldon's characterisation spot-on. I can definitely imagine all of this running through his mind.

I agree with wordy - Wyldon's awareness of everything, calculating everything in the moment, is spot-on.
