Hello everyone! Introducing myself before posting, as it seems to be the polite thing to do. I'm a long time reader, somewhat accidentally. My mom the librarian got me "Wild Magic" on a whim at a book conference, and I was hooked. I zipped through what I could of the Immortals (only slightly out of order: 1,3,2,4), then moved on to SotL, which I read in the order I was able to find them at Borders (3,2,4,1; I think). I'm a Tortall girl overall, but I have read a few of the Emelan books and enjoyed them as well. I love reading and enjoy writing and drawing as well (I have some Tortall artwork up over on deviantart: www.filiaumbrae.deviantart.com ). I look forward to participating in all of these neat discussions! |

Welcome to Goldenlake! I'm Lanna. Do you have any name or nickname you like to go by? Wow, I'd think The Song of the Lioness quartet would be really strange to read in that order! Have you reread it straight through since then, or tried the other other Tortall series? I'll be sure to take a closer look at your artwork later today, but skimming through, I adore your Daine. I also read the Tortall books out of order- I think SotL went 3, 1, 2, 4, Immortals 1, 3, 4, 2 and PotS 1, 3, 2, 4 -because finding Tammy's books is so dratted hard in the UK! |

Thanks for the warm wishes everyone! I go by Filia, or JEB, whichever you care for.
May- right on the nose! I was a huge dork in high school (which carried over to college and a BA in the Classics)
Also thanks for looking at my art! Poor Daine has gone through so many iterations that it's ridiculous. I think I've got several pages of crappy doodles just trying to get her face how I pictured it >.> Kel and Alanna probably my second favorites in that drawing series, and I was definitely least satisfied with how Aly turned out. Well. I like her hair at least. ^_^
I keep planning on putting up Thayet and Beka, which I've done, but which may be redone soon, especially seeing as how I can't find my lineart to scan. *le sigh*
