Hey guys,
My name is Nicola - i'm 22, a law and arts student at the University of Melbourne (in Australia). I'm also known as Scarlet-mage on various websites, and "Niki" on Sheroes (in my defence, i was 11 when i created my account).
I first read Tamora Pierce when in 1998 - Song of the Lioness characters remain my favourite. I constantly haunt Sheroes... That's all i can really think of. So, hi. ;D

Welcome to Goldenlake, Nicola! I'm Lanna, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me or May (rainstormamaya, the other Welcome Wagon mod) anytime. In addition, be sure to check your board inbox. A message from me should be headed your way briefly. Your name is beautiful, by the way. When I was little, I used to ask people to call me Nicole or Nicola because I liked it so much. The characters from Song of the Lioness are my favorites, too. Do you have any of which you're especially fond? Pfft. People often do. The only thing that matters is beating poor May.

Welcome! I'm Samantha, but Sam's fine.
How are you finding law? It's a course I'm considering.
Do you have a particular favourite of Pierce's series?

Wow that is really strange how many law students and aussies are here Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... Jai - french is my major in Arts, and I do a bit of history on the side, although it's mainly Ancient Roman history, this semester I'm studying Hitler's Germany which is scary but really interesting. What about you?? Sam & Wild, re law, i'm in my fourth year - at Melbourne, it's a double degree. I think Law's far too competitive (or at least it is here) but it's really interesting and satisfying. IF you're interested in it, you should definitely pursue it, but the thing is that if you're just after it to become successful, do commerce instead. Come exams, don't ask me again, I will start screaming. SotL.... I have to say, I actually like Jon *hides*. And Gary, Raoul, Myles, George, Thayet, Buri, etc. My first reading of POTS was sitting there going "OH MY GOD MYLES!" "OH MY GOD JON!" "OH MY GOD RAOUL!". I did reread it, and stopped scanning the pages for my favourites though And I love Alanna, of course. She's my favourite, always has been, always will be. Now for the embarassing bit... I like A/J. Don't kill me! I know George is more practical. Really, I do. I'm not A/J crazy, i mainly like the nuances in their adult relationship than "quick let's kill Thayet and George, and have hot random sex without any explanation!" So, so hard to find fanfic about them that is decent....

Yeah, Alanna and Jon never quite struck me as the post-homicide-sex type Especially one that doesn't involve a black haired purple eyed daughter bastard daughter that Alanna stowed up north until she turned 16, who then miraculously turns up at court one day.

exactly!
And most still write them as they were when they were teenagers... NO, they have developed; they are older; they are different!
