Title: Dejected
Rating: G
Prompt: 8. escape all that waiting and staying
Summary: Tris accidentally ruins one relationship for another.
Notes: Don't worry, I'll be doing Franzen's POV in a few prompts. ;D
I've got to go! Tris shouts in her mind. I need to tell Franzen how I feel. Tris leaps out of bed, runs to Sandry's room, but slowly knocks on her door.
Sandry opens her door, still in her peach colored nightgown, looking very cross.
"What?" Tris asked her.
"You know what, Trisana Chandler."
Uh-oh, this can't be good. Tris groans in her mind.
"Oh no, this isn't good Tris." Sandry said.
"How did you -"
Sandry divulges in a wicked smile as she tapped her head.
"Okay that explains some things... "
"Yes," Sandry started, mocking politeness. "Would you please explain to me why I woke up so abruptly this morning with someone shouting in my head 'I've got to go, Franzen... or something of that sort?" Sandry's voice rose to a strangled shout.
Quickly, Tris closed the door of Sandry's room behind her. "Breath, Sandry." Sandry's eyes drilled holes into Tris, every curtain, rug, and piece of clothing jumping as if being zapped by lightning.
"Tris, you gladly accepted coming here to Landreg to help us out. After my uncle's death, I felt lost and scared, but now I know that I need to help them out. Couldn't you stay for one more day and fix the bridges with Evvy? Tris, this is really important to me."
"Important to you." Tris said coldly.
Sandry stepped back in surprise. "F-fine, go. But don't come back, only with shame on your name!" Sandry calls as Tris slams the door behind her.
Okay, Tris says in her mind. I just screwed up my new and 'strong' relationship with Sandry for a boy. This better be worth it.
"Evvy, wake up." Tris says gruffly to Evvy.
"What?" Evvy complains.
"We're going to do the bridges right now, then we'll go. Come on." Tris urges.
Evvy obliges and soon enough they are out and working.
Miserable, tiring, and soaked did not begin to describe what the two girls felt. As the townspeople awoke, they whispered and backed away from two cold and wet girls working wonderous magic.
As soon as they were done, and to Evvy's anger, the two left on their horses and rode away.
No more did Tris ever feel so dejected as she did at that moment.
