Hello there from the (ha!) Sunshine State!
I read the Song of the Lioness quartet back when that was all Pierce had published! I managed to miss the rest of the books until the last year or so, but in my defense, when the Immortals was published, I was a single mom working on my degree. My daughter devoured the books as a child, but I didn't get a chance to pay attention to them until recent years. (She's grown now, planning to get married next year, and has said that should she have a daughter of her own, one of her names will be Keladry, if that tells you anything!)
A friend from Seanan McGuire fandom recommended the Full Cast Audio editions of Pierce's books, and because of what my library had available at the time (wow, e-lending apps are handy!), I listened to the Circle of Magic books first, then the Immortals, and I'm listening to Tempests and Slaughter now. (These books are excellent company while knitting or crocheting or sewing.)
So hiya. I haven't written anything (complete) for this fandom yet, but my AO3 username is also AZDesertRose; online I'm mostly some variant of DesertRose. I also participate in Seanan McGuire fandom (as already noted) and I'm one of the mods for the Katherine Kurtz online fandom spaces.
I'm glad this forum exists. I'm enough of an Internet Old that I really love the structure of forums for extensive discussion, although Discord is pretty cool too.

Welcome aboard!
That is so cool that you were able to read the Song of the Lioness quartet when that was all Tammy had published. Song of the Lioness was the first Tamora Pierce series that I read too when I was in middle school, but by the time I read the books, it was in the early 2000's, so they had been out for quite some time. I still have a massive soft spot for Alanna: The First Adventure because it was the first Tamora Pierce book I ever read. It was for a mother-daughter book club I was in at the time, and I quickly begged my mom to go out and buy me the rest of the series.
Kudos to you for being a single mom working toward your degree when the Immortals came out. Neither of those are easy. Being a single mom or working toward your degree, so huge respect to you for doing both at the same time!
It's awesome that your daughter also devoured the Tamora Pierce books, and it is awesome that if she has a daughter of her own, she is thinking of naming her Keladry. Kel was always my favorite Tamora Pierce protagonist (probably because her temperament is most similar to mine, so I could really relate to her) and I thought her full name, Keladry, was especially beautiful.
E-lending apps are amazing, for sure, and I'm sure the Tamora Pierce audiobooks make an excellent companion while knitting, crocheting, and sewing. I have enjoyed some Tamora Pierce audiobooks while exercising, walking my dog, and doing chores around my house. They especially help to keep me motivated when I am exercising or doing chores I don't want to do.
I'm so glad that you made your way over here from AO3. I know that I've seen you over there as well, but so lovely to have you join us over here as well!
I'm like you in that I prefer forum structure for discussion, so sites like this are perfect for me!
