Spoilers ahead for the latest Bond film (No Time to Die)...
Is anyone here a Bond fan? I watched a fair amount when I was younger, but Daniel Craig really revolutionised the franchise - Casino Royale and Skyfall are both excellent standalone films, and I've been more impressed with Quantum of Solace since Craig confessed he and the director co-wrote it during the writer's strike and he is conscious that it wasn't good.
I fell asleep both times I tried to watch Spectre so I was a little lost at times in No Time to Die, and a lot of it was lazy writing (villain's motive was unclear, end goal unclear, scarring unnecessary, passage of time was obscure, not enough time given to certain characters). On the other hand, I love the fleshing out of Bond over Craig's tenure, and they bookended his time neatly.
I enjoyed that they managed to weave in a black, female 007 (although I wish they'd done a little more with her).
I hope that the Bond franchise continues to adapt and develop whatever the direction they take with the next casting, but I'd like to see more development with the villains (have seen too many of these 'strange organisations' crop up recently), and obviously with the female characters too. I hope they don't recast Moneypenny because I love Naomi Harris.
Anyone have a favourite Bond era or film?

I have watched a lot of Bond films in my life, as my dad is a big fan and now my sisters are too. I liked Daniel Craig's reboot and actually giving more depth to the character, though some of the individual films were a bit hit or miss for me.
I think I have watched every official Bond film up until now (unsure about the last one), but I just can't do it anymore. Even though I like Craig's portrayal better, and I definitely like some of his off screen comments, there are still so many issues with the franchise and I'm just so tired. I know they're trying to address them, but it's like an accumulation of sexism over 20+ movies that I just can't shake. I'm also not a big movie goer anyway, so I don't want to give it some of my limited movie watching energy.
As a bit of trivia (to end on a lighter note) the (pre-Craig) Bond film I have watched the most is Tomorrow Never Dies (which was my fave at one point). The most physically painful one for me to watch was Die Another Day, because I was about a week post operation and watching Bond squeeze the bad guy's IV bag made my own catheter entry point ache in sympathy!!

I can appreciate the struggle - I will say that I am impressed at how far the Craig series has gone (no disposable girlfriends, interesting and varied women, no women requiring rescuing by a man in the latest film), though naturally there is always room for improvement.
Ouch re: Die Another Day, I appreciate that is a painful association!
I think my personal favourite film is Goldfinger
