A happy New Year to you all! Are you in the habit of making goals or resolutions? Did you achieve any goals set for yourself last year?
I set myself reading goals every year. It gives me a nice sense of accomplishment. Hoping to get to a new country, too.

Happy New Year to all!
Reading goals sound great. I tend to just accumulate a to-read list as I go along, which results in it always being ridiculously long, ha ha. Going to new countries is always exciting. Any idea what new country you want to go to this year?
I normally like to identify one change I want to try to make in my life for the New Year. Last year, my goal was improving my diet since I had a bit elevated blood pressure because of my generalized anxiety disorder, and I really preferred not to go on blood pressure medicine when I'm still quite young. I didn't want to crash diet or anything but make overall sustainable changes in my diet, so I have mostly been sticking to what I think of as a heart healthy diet (low-sodium, low-fat, and low-sugar) and an American Heart Association Low Sodium cookbook has been my most helpful ally in that. I have a few other low-sodium cookbooks that are also very useful to me. I do feel a lot more aware of the sodium and sugar I'm putting into my body now. I also know what foods (like bananas, prunes, and avocados) can lower my blood pressure quickly along with water. I slip up sometimes when I'm traveling or around the holidays, but overall, it has been successful, and I'm following it and being happier for it. I get less anxiety symptoms when my blood pressure is low, so for me, diet is the best way of regulating my blood pressure on a day to day basis.
For this upcoming year, I'd like to exercise more. I do try to get at least thirty minutes of exercise five days a week, but I'd like to do that every day of the week. I got a new treadmill from my family for Christmas to help me do that so that makes me excited. I normally listen to music when I exercise, but I'm thinking of trying to listen to more audio books or maybe some podcasts when I exercise instead. Having something to listen to helps me be more motivated to do the exercise, which also helps reduce my anxiety issues. If I miss a few days here and there, that's okay, as long as my overall amount of exercise increases. I don't believe in quitting a resolution just because I mess up once or twice. I just believe in carrying on the resolution anyway.

Happy new year!
This year my goal is keep my head down and get through to the end of my contract at work - it's going to be a really challenging year for my team as we're on the home stretch now. We'll be disbanding at the end of the year when our project finishes, so this year I also have to think about what I'd like to do in 2020 - and at the moment I don't really have any ideas apart from that after five and a half years in one organisation I think it will be time to work somewhere new.

Happy 2019, guys!
I’ve got some general goals - read 52 books this year, including history and non-fiction.
I’m also aiming for 5k steps a day, hopefully to be increased to 10k, and generally just to eat less and lose weight.

My resolutions are always vague: be a kinder, better version of myself. There are some things I would like to accomplish this year, though, starting with becoming a little more active and a little less sluggish. I also would like to DM a game with my D&D/RPG group again - but this time with confidence.

Happy new year all! Here's to a good 2019!
I don't set new year's resolutions, although I do set a yearly reading target of 50 books (which I increase if I reach it, although last year I only made it to 51).
I do have some goals that I've been slowly working on, both by myself and with my partner, and I am hoping to make more progress on them this year.

Any idea what new country you want to go to this year? Either Latvia or Slovakia, but I'm not sure it's going to work out. Fingers crossed!

Rosie, Latvia or Slovakia would be cool to visit. I have never been to Eastern Europe, but the culture would be amazing to explore. I hope you make it to one of them by the end of 2019.

Happy new year!
I did make some resolutions this year, and I did make them SMART goals, so we’ll see how we go. I’d like to be healthier, and keep track of things a bit better.
