This question always intrigues me - I think the most common answer seems to be all the posting we do/have done on fanfiction sites. So, how did you make your way here?
I used to be on another forum, The Dancing Dove, and I made friends with Kat/Katty there. She told me she was creating a new board (the Dove having faded), and invited me over, and that was that, really. We've had some madcap times (a post went round tumblr recently about Glake, and everyone was reminiscing about the 2010 SMACKDOWN - it was really something, though the 2011 Decathlon's the one which has a place in my heart, probably because it wasn't so high-pressured!).

Neat topic. Here's my story: before the Spy Guide came out, I was searching for the release date, and Google directed me to a Goldenlake thread about it. I looked around here, thought the place looked cool, and decided to join.

Honestly I don't quite remember whose story it was that eventually convinced me to look for Goldenlake, but I wandered here from ff.net sometime in 2011. I am proof that flood days work. That was a great time period for me at Goldenlake. I have many fond memories of group chats with Griff, Ankhiale, Kris11, and so many others. Sadly, I don't have as much free time now as I did in 2012 while I did TWO decathlons. But maybe someday soon!

I was posting (ad hoc) about TP books on Twitter in 2011 and @fiefgoldenlake started following me. I was intrigued by their profile and clicked on the link for the forums and the rest, as they say, is history 😊

I was procrastinating from my studies and picked up PotS to read again. Then I wondered if there was any active fandom for Tortall and looked online, and Google led me here. I lurked for a while and then decided this seemed like a pretty cool place and joined up.

I really can’t remember. It was either through a rabbit hole on LJ, or I was searching for Tammy fan forums and stumbled on Glake.

Hello! I’m very new to Goldenlake, but I stumbled upon it last year when I was in the middle of a big Tamora Pierce reread and desperate for more content. I’ve been folllowing the tumblr for a bit but decided to finally take the plunge and join the forum!

Rosie, I love the tumblr! It was a good way to lurk on forum without committing to it, you know what I mean?

I was going around on AO3 procrastinating on my latest chapter and so many authors were referring to this place so I thought, "Eh, another good place to procrastinate in!"
