Title: Foolish (Part 2) Rating: G Prompt: 14. Happily Ever After Summary: Her childhood dreams never ended with being locked in a tower.
So this is where her mother’s guidance had led her. Locked in a tower with far too much time to reflect. Fairytales never ended quite like this. If by chance her whimsical fantasies ended in a tower, there was always a dragon to slay and a knight in shining armor to save her. She had little faith in the knights of Tortall, and well, surely she was not so far gone as to miss a dragon lurking in this gods forsaken place.
She was far from foolish and she hardly gave herself room to hope these days. Hardly. Once in a while she found her eyes trained on the door to her prison waiting for a savior to revive the young girl with grand stories and even grander dreams. The young girl her mother and her had exuded a mutual effort in destroying.
But her mother was dead and, because apparently nothing could go right, she was alive.
So here she was, cold and trembling, still holding out for an ending fit for a fairytale.

Ah, this is just too sad! I love how you've had Delia compare her situation to the fairytales of her childhood.

I really liked the parallels between the kind of tower found in a fairy tale, and Delia's own real-life experience with it. I also liked how you don't touch on her being remorseful about all that has happened... it fit with how I imagine her mind and character. Good follow-up, I liked it a lot.
