Thread Content Notes
Title: the title of your entry.
Rating: please check the Goldenlake ratings guide if you are unsure how to rate your entry
Category: the category your entry is submitted under, such as Tortall <1,000 words, Emelan >1,000 words
Length: number of words
Original and Subsequent Haunts: list and link all sites the story has been published on, including Goldenlake, The Kings Own, LiveJournal, Fanfiction.net, AO3, etc
Summary: summary of your story - this is not included in the word limit
Notes: Ensure all warnings are clearly stated here - please review this list of topics requiring warnings for guidance
Other Notes
- If your entry has multiple chapters, please clearly indicate each new chapter with a chapter title (e.g. Chapter 2) and ensure chapters are posted in their correct order. For long chapters please make each chapter a new post in the thread. Shorter chapters or parts of a series may be grouped within posts.
- If your entry is a 'series' please ensure the entry is contained in one thread; each new thread constitutes a new entry.
- Ensure the word count reflects the total length of the entry, including all chapters, book ends or 'in story' prompts (e.g. a 50 words prompt structure).
- The posting form only has to be posted once per story, at the top of the thread.

Rules Regarding Entries
1. Word limits: Entries in the <1,000 word category must be between 500 and 999 words long. Entries in the >1,000 word category must be at least 1,000 words long, however there is no maximum word count.
2. Date restrictions: Entries must have been written or last updated in their original form (i.e. the first place they were posted, whether it be fanfiction.net, livejournal, TKO, GL, etc) on or after 1 January 2011 (as the last Piercefic competition ran in 2010). Authors must provide links to all internet versions of the story.
3. Completeness of Entries: Works in progress are not permitted. Entries must be completed and able to be judged in their entirety; multi-chapter stories must be finished.
4. Other Competitions: Entries must not have been previously entered in a Piercefic (2008 or 2010) competition. Entries from Goldenlake competitions, events or prompts are permitted. Fanfiction that has been submitted or won non-Goldenlake competitions may also be submitted.
5. Crossovers: Entries featuring a crossover between universes (i.e. Tortall and Emelan) or with a non-Tamora Pierce universe (e.g. Harry Potter) are not permitted. Crossovers between series within a single universe are permitted.
6. Nomination: Entries MUST be nominated/submitted by their own author; they cannot be nominated or posted by someone else. Should you feel strongly that a particular fanfiction should be submitted, please encourage the author to post the fic!
7. Posting of Entries: Entries must be posted in full (i.e. in their entirety) to the Events board; this version of the fic will be provided to the judges for marking. Please use the posting format provided and ensure the category and word count are stated.
8. Genre/Rating: Entries may be any genre or rating. Warnings and ratings MUST be clearly displayed in line with Goldenlake Rules. Should you wish to submit a NC-17 rated fic, please advise Admin and arrangements will be made for your fic.
9. Number of Entries: Authors are restricted to a maximum of four entries in a single category (e.g. <1,000 words Emelan) and six entries per author overall.
10. Judge's Entries: Judges may mark fics in a category they have submitted fics in, however they will not be permitted to mark their own entries.
