Neal found her talking to Kel, chuckling softly. Her white hand rose hastily to cover her smiling mouth. At least he could still see her eyes. They were such happy eyes, and she didn't need to say anything. Not now. His nerves were bubbling as he watched her. The feeling of missing a step crept slowly through his body, making him shudder (and step slightly closer). He thought strangely of his room, covers thrown back, airy and sun-dried. Her shukusen lay on the night table in the corner, bathed in a warm, intimate light. Stacks of books lay next to it, their archaic covers crumbling, odd and inviting. He thought of stroking her hand and being exasperatingly curious - hearing her laugh, and maybe her desire.
Maybe once we'd have seen it during Smackdown!
