Title: Letters & Addresses Rating: G Prompt: Letters, #49 Summary: Letters exchanged between Gary and Alex. Set in my Sherlock/Tortall AU. Disclaimer: Sherlock's plot belongs to Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. The characters and original plot belong to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Naxen,
I'm rather busy right now, so if you could come by Baker Street and pick up my sword, that would be wonderful. I may have to duel a cult leader on the way to meet you. I'll probably be thirsty. Can we meet at The Speckled Pheasant? If I'm there before you, I'll order you some twilsey. I wish you weren't a teetotaler.
Tirragen
**
Tirragen,
I've been to Mr. Moriarty's lecture with Cythera. Very brilliant. Haughty, too.
Naxen
**
Naxen,
Not haughty. Dangerous. See you at the palace. There to speak with King Jonathan. I hope you know he treats you like a clerk.
Tirragen
** Tirragen,
Lady Knight Keladry of Mindelan came up to me this afternoon - told me she was in danger. Furtive. Needs to talk to you.
Naxen
**
Naxen,
Tell her I will see her tonight at eight.
Tirragen **
Naxen,
The woman has escaped to Tusaine, where she is undoubtedly spending her money horribly and eating those trifling chocolates. I wonder if she has met with any useless beaux yet?
Tirragen
**
Tirragen,
The beaux, I'm sure of. The chocolates? Too fattening.
Naxen
**
Tirragen,
Any leads on the Mindelan case? Cythera and I just came from Tyra. Beautiful place.
Naxen
**
Naxen,
May I stay at Naxen for a few nights next week? I fear for my life.
Tirragen
**
Tirragen,
Of course, on both counts.
Naxen

I love this AU so much!!! This was lovely. You captured me from the first one, because it couldn't have been funnier.
"I may have to duel a cult leader on the way to meet you. I'll probably be thirsty."
It's PERFECT.
I'm not sure if it is just me, but in the second last letter it ends with " In fear for my life." and that sounds weird? Awkward if not incorrect; maybe 'I' fear would have flowed better. But I can't think of a 'correct' way to way the same thing, so it is probably just catching my brain wrong.
I like the little glimpses we got here; it really fleshed the characters and their world out. I hope you do another longer one, though!

Haha, I got the idea from the Sherlock scene where he's randomly duelling with a warlord in his apartment. Yeah, it's a bit jarring, true. Thank you! I'll keep this AU goin'; you'll see more of this!

I didn't think it was jarring at all; I loved it! But I love the longer ones too. That was one of my favourite scenes. <3
