Series: Ten Scenes Title: Circling Rating: G Event: 110 word (reverse) hurdles Words: 110 Summary: It was an easy question.
At midnight she kisses him under the stars, arms wrapped ever-tight around his neck. His grip on her waist is strong, nearly enough to lift her off the ground. "Happy Midwinter," Dom says, and Kel can barely feel the cold.
At nine he asks her to dance.
At eight it snows, little flakes that drift down past the glass windowpanes. The world looks dreamy and Kel sips at warm cider, music drifting through the hall. Dom taps out the rhythm on his thigh.
At five, at sundown, she sees him in the hallway and he says "save me a dance," like it is the most natural thing in the world.
