Title: Nothing Changes Rating: PG Recipient: Mattes/Tunstall Notes (and any Warnings): Pre- Terrier, I suppose... this would take place well after the "Dear Clary" one, not the same year or anything.
Dear Mattes,
I suppose this isn't really a Valentine, but I have a favor to ask of you. Or two. And you have to keep quiet about this! Tom and I are going to get married this spring. Don't be sad, I'll still be your partner. Anyways, I wanted to know if you'd be my lead bridesmaid. I know what you're thinking, just wait. My mama is very adamant about following "the rules," so Tom picks the men and I pick the women. We (Tom and I) agreed to bend Mama's rules a little, since it would be slightly awkward for me to invite people he knows better and him to invite you, ect. You may wear what you like, as long as it's somewhat normal, since Mama doesn't take well to bleatbrained people. I was talking to Annalise (my littlest sister, you met her before, remember?), and she had some ideas about the wedding. We thought maybe we could get the mage-ribbons that glow and string them up in trees for light. We'd do the wedding in that glen behind the creek on Nipcopper Close. Anna thought it would be pretty if we did it at night, so everything's all lit up with candles and magic. I want you to know that this isn't going to change us. We're still going to be the same people, Clary and Mattes. It'll be just as it was before, 'cept I'll be going home somewhere else. I don't want us to be different.
Yours forever, Clary Goodwin

I really enjoyed this little look into pre-series Clary - you have her so tender yet so practical here. Well done.
