Oh no, this place is so empty! I'll be the first to admit that I don't read as many Emelan fics as I could...but I'll soon fix that! Anyway, here's a nice little drabble called The Sky, and a one-shot of Briar back when he was Roach, which is a nice read.

It's great to see the Emelan forum getting more traffic, but remember to keep an eye out for fics to rec, whether they're from here on GL, TKO, ff.net, or someplace else. For now, here are the links to the Emelan fic recs from the last few issues of GK: 2009 Volume 3 (latest issue) 2009 Volume 2 2009 Volume 1

Alright, here goes. Two of my favorites, with more to come. The Language of FlowersThis one is a classic Lark/Rosthorn piece, written way back in 2002. It's a short and sweet take on how Rosethorn and Lark first discovered their feelings for one another. On the Floor of a Stage in BihanBy our very own Kit, probably one of the sexiest stories I've read in the Emelan verse. It deals with a young Lark and Yazmin, stretching and flirting.

The Circle, Updated shows such promise that I had to rec it here. It's a modern CoM AU set in outback Australia, and although a couple of characters don't act quite like themselves (partly because it's a modern AU), the author has Tris's, Briar's and Rosethorn's voices down pat. There are little canonical details like Briar's incident with the rose vine woven in, and some of the author's reinventions of the four's situations are quite interesting. I do find some of the charm of the original canon/world is lost in modernising Emelan, but I'll see if I come to like it, and I'll definitely be reading more. archiveofourown.org/works/1215295/chapters/2486626
