Title: Simple Rating: PG Word Count: 118 Summary (and any Warnings): Varice and Numair, before.
"Do you ever wish for...more?"
He turns his head to see her face. Her bare shoulder is distracting, and he traces a finger across her skin as he mulls over an answer.
Varice has always been this way. Eager to please, always searching for approval. He recognises the question for what it is: though she loves her work, and others love her for it, she has always been concerned that what she does is frivolous.
Seriousness is overrated. He doesn't quite know what to say to her, so he settles for pulling her close, kissing her on the temple. He can feel the beat of her pulse under his hand. What more is there to wish for?

This is really adorable. I love the introspection into Varice's character, and how Numair sees her and her Gift.

Ahh, I was hoping we'd some some Numair/Varice! Very pretty piece, and you characterized her beautifully.

I love how you've captured Varice's insecurities and Numair's sweetness so accurately

They were lovely together, before, and I loved how you showed that. Varice's characterization is, of course, spot-on, but I particularly liked the undertones of Arram in that last paragraph.
