Title: Mortem Rating: PG Character: Koramin Ingensra Event: 100 word dash Words: 100 Summary: More than one thing died that night.
Mama always told her to be careful with her magic. In a village as small as theirs, healers were always in high demand for every scrape and bruise, every hunting accident and birth. Lizaveta Vilisra birthed most of the town and attended their deaths.
Kora was never good with healing spells.
She remembers what happened, how Danil and Galya's baby came early. Lizaveta went down to the village to try to save mother and child.
Danil named the girl Liza for the woman who struck a deal with the Black God to save her.
Kora left the village that night.

Oh, wow - this is such a powerful background for Kora, and also for her magic.

I agree. This is spectacularly done. You did so much with so few words!

Oh, I love the full sense of story I get from this! There are so many beautiful small details, and in so little space. Gorgeously done.

Oh. Poor Kora -- this makes me want to cuddle and reassure her so much.
