Title: Stay Away, OK? Rating: PG Word Count: 168 Pairing: Neal/Owen Fight: 1/E Summary: It’s better to stay away from Lord Wyldon and his. Note: Inspired by the Roger and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! song It’s Scandal, It’s an Outrage. (Lyrics excluded from word count)
It’s getting so you can’t have any fun, Every daughter has a father with a gun. It’s a scandal, it’s an outrage!
“You can’t be serious.”
“What?” Owen retorted, folding his arms across his chest, “You asked Sir Wyldon for Margarry’s hand three years ago. And now you’re calling me stupid?”
Neal gave Owen a half-smile. “That was a long time ago; I was naïve. I thought that he must have been looking to marry her off, since she was old even back then.”
Owen snorted. “Even that’s half-witted logic.”
“What’s your reasoning, fountain of wisdom?” Neal asked, elbowing Owen.
“Well, Sir Wyldon caught me and Margarry kissing,” he admitted, “And he promised to kill me, so I thought offering to marry her might pacify him.” Neal looked at him with incredulity, and Owen shrugged. “I’m not dead, am I? He didn’t get angrier- it actually seemed to calm him down. He just told me to get away from his daughter and never come back.”
Neal laughed. “Will you listen to him?”
“Of course. I’ll find another court lady.”
Neal continued to laugh. “Come here, romantic. Let’s go out riding.”

Ha. I love the idea of Neal offering to marry Margarry, although knowing Neal I doubt it was for the reason he gave. But I like this twist on how I usually look at the two of them and their relationships/marriages.
